The Role
Simpson Print is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to join our dynamic team in a high-paced printing factory. The successful candidate will coordinate and maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring smooth production flow and timely fulfillment of customer orders. This role supports operational efficiency and cost control by implementing robust inventory management practices. Works closely with Production and the Warehouse teams to ensure a smooth flow of goods and materials within the operation. This role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to solving production challenges. The role reports into the Financial Controller.

 This position is on-site and is an immediate vacancy.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels for substrates, inks, hardware, and display components.
  • Perform regular physical inventory and cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
  • Update and maintain inventory data in ERP or MIS systems (e.g., Accura).
  • Organize and label stock areas for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Track incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring proper documentation and SKU accuracy.
  • Identify obsolete, damaged, or slow-moving stock and report to management.
  • Assist with purchasing raw materials and supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Work closely with production and finishing teams to ensure material availability for scheduled jobs.
  • Inspect materials upon receipt and before dispatch to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, shipments, and returns.
  • Generate inventory reports for management, highlighting variances and trends.
  • Support audits and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Liaise with sales, production, and shipping teams to align inventory with job schedules.
  • Provide backup support for client services or material handling when required.

Skills and Competencies
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems (ERP/MIS such as Accura).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and database skills.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning and warehouse management tools.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Analytical thinking for inventory optimization.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed.
  • Comfortable navigating between the office and the factory floor.

Education and Experience
  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: College diploma or certificate in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations (printing industry experience is an asset).
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles and quality control processes.

Working Conditions

Compensation
$22 to 24$ per hour with benefits package
