Position Summary
The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting shop operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Reporting to the Shop Lead Hand, this position involves material movement, equipment checks, general labour duties, and supporting production needs across various departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow direction from the Supervisor and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain strong 5S standards and general housekeeping, including chip bin and garbage removal, floor and bench cleanliness, and upkeep of indoor and outdoor storage areas.
  • Perform daily equipment checks in accordance with preventative maintenance and safety procedures.
  • Operate overhead cranes to move and set up parts; heavy manual work is required in compliance with CBB Health & Safety practices.
  • Work independently to meet daily operational requirements.
  • Perform general labour and warehouse duties, including forklift operation.
  • Conduct daily checks on forklifts and cranes.
  • Support stock room activities, including stocking and inventory tasks.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as required.
  • Assist in other departments when assigned.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Previous experience as a shipper/receiver in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid forklift and overhead crane certifications are considered assets.
  • Experience working with complex materials or in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
