For over 40 years, Comcor has provided innovative landfill gas control, recovery, and utilization
solutions to municipal and private-sector clients nationwide. We are seeking a motivated
Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to projects that deliver measurable
environmental benefits while supporting sustainable infrastructure development.
About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation
of landfill gas control and utilization systems. Working closely with Project Managers and
multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to a wide range of projects from concept development
through construction and commissioning.

Key responsibilities include:


  • Designing and preparing tender documents for landfill gas collection, control, and
utilization systems.
  • Supporting asset management initiatives for landfill gas infrastructure.
  • Preparing Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) applications and other
regulatory submissions.
  • Conducting assessments of landfill gas recovery potential, migration, and system
performance.
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Assisting with project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource
planning.
  • Administering construction contracts and coordinating with contractors during project
implementation.
  • Maintaining effective communication with clients, regulators, contractors, and other
project stakeholders.
  • Supporting business development initiatives through proposal preparation and technical
presentations.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario, or eligibility for registration.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in landfill gas, biogas,
renewable energy, environmental infrastructure, or related industrial systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage
clients, regulators, contractors, and project teams.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and applicable federal and provincial
environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with CSA codes, TSSA requirements, and regulations related to landfill gas and
propane systems.
  • Understanding of process and mechanical systems, including blowers, pumps, piping
systems, valves, and related equipment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Project management experience or certification (PMP or equivalent) would be considered
an asset.
  • Valid G class drivers license in good standing

Compensation
Salary: $85,000 to $105,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

This position is primarily office-based and located at Comcor Environmental Limited’s head office
in Cambridge, Ontario.
