NAC Foreign Extension Inc., the overseas missionary arm of The New Apostolic Church Canada, has an extensive overseas missionary program carried out through the generous support of its members. The scope of the missionary work conducted under the registered Canadian charity NAC Foreign Extension extends to the continents of Africa and Asia. Canadian missionaries travel to developing nations lending expertise to local church building projects, bible distribution, local minister training and development. Through NAC Foreign Extension, New Apostolic Church Canada supports missionary work in Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Financial aid is provided to support local charitable initiatives. NAC Foreign Extension also directs financial assistance to local aid agencies responding to catastrophic events or natural disasters.

As the Bilingual Finance & Operations Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accountability, coordinating international operations, and supporting country teams across Africa and Asia. This position requires fluency in French, a solid foundation in finance/accounting, and a readiness for international travel. As the organization grows, this role will expand in both scope and responsibility—ideal for someone seeking long-term growth and global impact.

Work Location

Depending on your place of residence and proximity to our Waterloo, Ontario office, you may perform your duties from a home office. However, in-person attendance at our Waterloo office or another designated location will be required for meetings, training, and other business needs, as necessary. This role also includes international travel, with frequency and destinations determined by specific assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Coordination
  • Review and validate funding requests from international offices
  • Track expenditures against budgets and flag variances
  • Prepare banking documents and ensure correct financial coding
  • Post and reconcile financial transactions in organizational systems
  • Verify disbursement approvals and maintain audit-ready records

Reporting & Compliance
  • Analyze monthly financial reports from international offices
  • Review and reconcile:
  • Bank statements
  • Disbursement and receipt reports
  • Construction progress and statistical reports
  • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate reporting from all countries
  • Follow up on inconsistencies or delays with field teams
  • Compile quarterly summaries for executive leadership

Operational & Administrative Support
  • Coordinate regular virtual meetings with international offices
  • Build trusted relationships with international colleagues through hybrid and in-person collaboration/support
  • Collaborate on annual travel planning and budgeting
  • Process and track cross-border approvals and documentation
  • Identify gaps in financial and operational controls, proposing actionable solutions
  • Support global initiatives that strengthen finance systems and compliance

International Travel
  • Travel to international offices approximately 8–12 weeks annually
  • Visit field sites to assess financial processes and inspect funded projects

Qualifications
  • University degree in accounting, finance, or business; professional designation preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in finance or accounting (non-profit or international experience is an asset)
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written) is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Experience with international travel and cultural adaptability
  • Ability and willingness to travel abroad
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with financial practices in Africa or Asia is an advantage
