On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in real estate purchases, sales, and financing, with proficiency in software such as PC Law/LEAP, Teraview, Unity, and Conveyancer.

Key Responsabilities:
  • Assist all real estate lawyers at the firm and other lawyers as required, based on workload demands.
  • Manage cold-call inquiries from prospective clients in relevant legal areas and return all calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Take carriage of and manage approximately 20-25 files per month, including Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions
  • Conduct due diligence and title/other searches.
  • Interpret lender, accountant, and lawyer instructions.
  • Draft, register, and process all necessary documentation.
  • Assist the corporate-commercial clerk with commercial loan and security files.
  • Conduct due diligence, interpret instructions, and process mortgage/security documentation.
  • Provide administrative assistance to lawyers.
  • Offer professional support to lawyers and mentorship to clerks.
  • Organize and maintain files.
  • Handle day-to-day correspondence with clients, counsel, municipalities, financial institutions, courts, land registry offices, accountants, and other third parties.
  • Manage real estate lawyers’ schedules, track deadlines, and follow up on bring-forwards.
  • Prepare client reports and accounts.
  • Follow up on unpaid accounts and docket time for client file work.
  • Attend firm-related events, courses, and seminars (as required).
  • Assist with banking tasks when necessary.
  • Docketing time for client file work

Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years (or more) of real estate experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Strong background in sales and financing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of PC Law/LEAP, Teraview, Unity, and Conveyancer software.
