Pavey Law is looking for an experienced and dedicated Family Law Clerk to join their dynamic legal team. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working closely with clients, lawyers, and court officials, this is the perfect opportunity for you. 

Key Responsibilities 

Client Support & Case Management 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear and compassionate communication. 
  • Schedule meetings, coordinate attendance of witnesses, and manage client inquiries. 
  • Maintain an organized workflow, ensuring all case deadlines and limitation dates are met. 
  • Prepare and draft essential correspondence, including letters confirming retainers, disclosure requirements, and court outcomes. 

Legal Document Preparation & Court Filings 
  • Assist lawyers in drafting and organizing legal documents, such as Financial Statements, Net Family Property Statements, Conference Briefs, and Affidavits. 
  • Prepare motion and appeal materials in compliance with court standards. 
  • Coordinate with court agents to ensure timely service and filing of documents. 
  • Conduct legal research and retrieve records to support cases.

Administrative & Professional Support to Lawyers 
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring easy access to pleadings, motions, exhibits, and transcripts. 
  • Assist with trial preparation, including assembling documentary evidence and coordinating mediation or judicial dispute resolution. 
  • Conduct conflict searches, open and manage files, and ensure compliance with client identification procedures. 
  • Manage billing and timekeeping functions using legal software (Divorcemate, LEAP, ACL). 
  • Draft, proofread, and edit correspondence and legal documents with attention to detail. 

What We’re Looking For 
  • Strong knowledge of family law procedures and court processes (including general precedents and court procedures; preparation of court documents) 
  • Proficiency in legal software, including Divorcemate, LEAP, and ACL as well as Word, Adobe 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills 
  • A proactive team player with a willingness to learn and contribute to the firm's success
