Description
Canadian Specialty Castings., manufactures and repairs different forms of castings used in the energy, marine and industrial sectors. In addition, CSC manufactures associated industrial products. Understanding and experience of manufacturing with different materials, specifications, and machining.
The Foundry Worker sets up and operates grinding machines to grind external or internal cylindrical or tapered surfaces of castings to blueprint specifications, following tooling instructions and standard charts and applying knowledge of grinding. While operating the furnace and around you are required to ensure quality melting procedures are followed to achieve quality parts in Steel, Stainless steel, bronze, and aluminum alloys.
While working in molding you are to make cores for use in moulds to form holes or void spaces in castings; Make sand moulds using patterns, moulding boxes, sand and hand tools following bench, floor or pit moulding methods; Coat cores with protective materials and bake cores in ovens. Experience & Knowledge
· Manufacturing and repairing different forms of castings used in the energy, marine and industrial sectors. Understanding and experience of manufacturing with different materials, specifications, and machining.
· Experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
· Experience in, welding, forklift, bobcat would be a definite asset.
Duties
· Grinding, wheelabrator and sandblasting
· Mould making & assembly
· Shakeout & assisting with pours
· General maintenance & Housekeeping.
Principle Responsibilities and Accountability
· Following process instructions and able to understand product drawings for proper dimensions
· Minimum 2 years’ experience operating induction furnaces and pouring experience is a must have
· Induction furnace operation and inspections
· Ladle and furnace repair knowledge
· Following melt procedure with accuracy and recording
· Furnace safety awareness is a must
· Overall Foundry environment safety awareness is a must
· Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
· Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
· Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
· Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee health & safety

Compensation
$22.02 per hour plus
Physical Demands and Environment
The physical requirements include exposure to production environments that contains noise, dust and fumes. The physical effort of this position is moderate with some lifting, standing, walking and carrying involved. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs weights extended periods. The environment is fast paced and requires meeting deadlines and verifying product quality within time constraints. Will work independently in an unstructured environment and understands, respects, and adheres to the workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations.
