Canadian Babbitt Bearings Ltd. is the North American leader in refurbishment, design, and manufacture of Babbitt bearings for the Hydro, Power Generation, and Marine markets. CBB is committed to the integrity of manufacturing and repair of Babbitt bearings. We were founded on the premise that there was a need for a specialized babbitt bearing manufacturer in North America. In 1981, we made a bold and brave business decision to focus solely on bearing production. This commitment and specialization made us one of the world’s most prominent babbitt bearing facilities. We produce superior, specialized babbitt bearings to OEM specifications for equipment.

Canadian Babbitt Bearings Ltd. manufactures and repairs different forms of critical bearings and associated industrial products used in the energy, marine, and industrial sectors. Canadian Specialty Castings manufactures many different alloy castings at its Canadian Specialty Casting facility. Understanding and experience of design, quality, and manufacturing with different materials, specifications, complex turning and five-axis machining, assembly, and special processes is a significant asset.

About the Role
This is a hands-on technical documentation role supporting the Configuration Engineering team. You'll make sure every job that reaches the shop floor has the right drawings, specifications, routings, and revisions, so production and inspection teams can work without delays or confusion. • Verify that packages are complete and on the correct revision before they're released to the shop floor
  • Create and update routings and Bills of Materials in the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Process approved engineering changes, update affected documents, and maintain revision records and traceability
  • Identify missing information or conflicting requirements and escalate technical questions to the Configuration Engineer
  • Respond to production requests for drawings and documentation, and help investigate documentation issues found on the shop floor
  • Maintain standard templates and help improve and standardize document control processes

  • Good judgment in spotting discrepancies and knowing when to ask for technical clarification
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills

Nice-to-Haves
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Experience with routings, Bills of Materials, revision control, document control, or manufacturing work packages
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or other manufacturing systems
  • Background in machining, engineered-to-order (custom-built) products, heavy manufacturing, or repair
