Position Summary:
We are seeking qualified applicants for a full-time position of Landfill Gas Technician in the greater Vancouver area, BC. You will play a critical role in operating and maintaining our landfill facilities . This hands-on role is ideal for a mechanically inclined professional passionate about renewable energy and sustainability. Extensive training in all aspects of the job including training in our thorough Health and Safety program will be given.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor landfill gas wellfield and flaring systems and balance systems to ensure efficient, high quality gas production and combustion at all times
- Operate and maintain landfill gas collection and flaring facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
- Inspect and troubleshoot issues with wellfields and flaring systems
- Record and maintain operational and maintenance logs for compliance and reporting purposes.
- Supervise contractors in the proper installation of landfill gas collection or flaring systems, ensuring these are installed per the approved engineer’s drawings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve system issues and implement improvements.
- Comply with safety and environmental standards and participate in regular training programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: College or Environmental Engineering Technology, a degree in Environmental Science or a certified gas technician program.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in plant operations or maintaining mechanical machinery is preferred. Experience in the landfill gas or renewable energy sector is preferred, but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for data entry and reporting.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday Day shift
- On-Call Requirements Availability for on-call shifts as necessary
- Overtime:
- Reports to: Supervisor, Wellfield Operations
Compensation:
- $25 to $35 per hour

Compensation
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
